"NL600" in 2+2 parlance refers to NL Holdem with a blinds of .25/.50.

It doesn't have to be at Mcdonalds- although there's no shame in it- and invest the $600 because if you think you will be able in 12 months to turn that into a working bankroll out of which you will be able to withdraw 2-3k every month for the entirety of your time at university, you have been severely misinformed.
