john goodman might be a good nominee. he was basically only good in a few coen bros movies and awful in everything else.

[/ QUOTE ]

Just the Coen bros films alone give him enough good performances though. I'm sure I've liked a couple others, but I'd have to research it.

Not to mention Roseanne. He ruled in that.

Though I can't say I'm familiar with the entire body of work after The Usual Suspects, I nominate Stephen Baldwin.

John Goodman is a great [censored] actor. Do not understand how he's in this thread at all. I'm on a slow boil over this insult.

I think Keanu was pretty perfect for the Matrix.

RJ nominates Nick Cage, citing "Lord of War" as his good performance.

Eddie Murphy has gotta be way up there now.

costner and gibson are poor choices. i mean they have only been in a few really good roles but most of their others are not legimately LOL bad. both have been in a lot of pretty meh guy movies. not true stinkers. more in the 4-7 range than the 1-3 range.

[/ QUOTE ]

I find Gibson unwatchable in everything where he has to have that stunned look of terrible internal emotional pain on his face. He's so awful.

I'm thinking of Bull Durham for Costner

[/ QUOTE ]

It seems like his performances in Field of Dreams and Dances with Wolves would not contribute to a high "Cuba number" when compared with Bull Durham. In other words, he was good in those too.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is not correct.

No amount of suck can make up for the fact that Murphy might have been in like 10 classic movies.

Dids,

that's my thought as well, but then I got to thinking and can't really think of anything I love by him that's not Coen related.

OK I just looked him up on imdb. I don't know a ton of his appearances, but I was reminded that he was the voice in Monsters Inc. So yeah, awful choice, NT is dumb.
