Interesting point and I did actually see a guy fold an all in bet for another (his last) $15 at one point after he already put in about $100!! It was in a $1-2 game [/ QUOTE ] (sorry for the thread jack) I once accidently folded a set in a $300 (on the flop no less) pot. A king came off and seat 2 made it $100. I was so disgusted to see the king I tossed my 99 face up in the muck. Just as it hit I saw a 9 in the board and so did the whole table. I felt like a complete idiot. |

going ALL IN has a little bit more style to it... if the last $5 is in white chips i wouldn't but if its a red i prob would unless i felt otherwise i went with it. i don't think it will change the EV any, and i suspect he expects to get his last $5 in there when he calls anyway.
edit: the dealer is joking around w you and in a way giving you credit for taking all his chips |

5 bucks is 5 bucks, u play to win as much as possible, if it were a very friendly game then maybe not but even so i'd nickel him down in a second.

Take his last five dollars and hope he doesn't rebuy because he'll start getting hit in the face with the deck and end up taking YOUR last 5 dollars.
Better them than me. |

Nice a dealer is making comments to a player about a hand.
Pretty unprofessional. Sad actually. |

As I said I know the dealer(s) pretty well so it wasn't a big deal. It was quiet enough that no one else heard

I once let a guy keep his last $10. I just didnt want him to leave. He ended up tripling up with TT the very next hand and doubling up soon after. I took another $60 from him afterwards, so it turned out ok (he left when he got stacked).

So proud to see overwhelming votes for yes. They usually give it to the dealer anyways.

a 5 chip, maybe, but it would be pretty nitty to put him in for his last dollar.

I know her pretty well and she was joking w/ me [/ QUOTE ] Regardless, this is out of line and she should STFU. Being a robot in the box is the only way to deal. Glad you have no feelings of guilt, otter. PSA: Yes, always take the last cent. The very, very, very last cent. I take quarters from players in Laughlin (yes, they still play with quarters, and if the player wants to go down to those quarters on the table, he is allowed; on the other hand, if he declares all-in without the quarters, he is allowed this option, as well). I would take my husband's last quarters. Poker is not a game for the weak willed. If you are not willing to take your Grandma's bus money back to the nursing home, get out now.
