Re: AT, 2 overcards, standard?
[ QUOTE ]
my point is that i wanna play against mp1's betting range, but i don't wanna play against his 3-betting range. i think they're not the same at all, in my experience, in that 3/6 stars game, with this kind of player. [/ QUOTE ] "just to check, this is standard right, especially against a not-very-aggressive guy?" The answer clearly is that this is not standard expecially against a not very aggressive guy. If he's got enough of a hand to bet into the raiser in a 9 bet pot he has enough of a hand to call your raise in a now 12 bet pot. And once you've eliminated everyone else, he's going to showdown with his pair. You have 6 outs tops and this is not enough to make a raise to protect your equity. Do you really think this villain would often be betting out with A8/A7 here? |

Re: AT, 2 overcards, standard?
man of means,
it was a free card raise. i know he's likely to go to showdown bidbadabar, the reason why i wanted to stay in the hand is that the pot is already 9sb, which is a nice-sized pot so i wanted to continue in this hand and try to win it. mathematically, if i give myself 4 outs, it's correct to stay in the hand getting 9:1. if it was 3-handed in an unraised pot, i'd never make that play. |

Re: AT, 2 overcards, standard?
I thought you played the hand fine except for the calling pre-flop part.
