wrt matusow/helmuth...I think some clarifications are necessary:

-their CURRENT knowledge cannot beat 5/10 NL
-However, with this stipulation "This is going to assume that the bet has inspired the players to give it their all, not just intentionally donk around.", those 2 can easily LEARN to beat it though if they were dedicated and used the right resources.

but this is because they can. if you can get $20,000 or w/e it is to turn up at an event then why would you refuse and play poker instead to make the same?

Eli - doesn't he have the fairytale story of coming to the USA broke and living the dream? so he has beaten these stakes and could do again.

Sammy - ok we estimate that most of his income does not come from poker. we also hear that he is a big winner in the largest cash games on earth regularly. but i doubt he is a big loser if in fact he loses at all... and again... with patience... he could beat $5/$10nl

the only one who i doubt is Jamie Gold. what do we know about hsi game? he won a few tournaments in LA before winning the WSOP with a sick run of cards. then he lost big in HSP Season 3... i don't think he could beat $5/$10nl if he wanted to.

Some of them don't play NLHE as their main game. Neither Eli nor Sammy play much NLHE outside of a few tournaments a year.
Of course Barry, Antonio and Mikey could beat NL1000.
I have a doubt about Phil mainly due to his tilt issues.

i may be one of the only ones who thinks eli might be able to beat 5/10 NL online. he may play retardedly loose preflop but keep in mind that it's pretty deep, it's live (so its boring, play more hands LDO) and he plays well postflop. plus the guy just likes to gamble.
