went with a solid navy suit. jacket has two buttons. pants have cuffs and pleats. got a pretty good deal since macy's had a 20% discount this weekend.

1. Cuffs are great. They add a little weight to the bottom of the pants to reduce the likelihood of the pant legs riding up.
2. Pleast. Thumbs Up.
3. Single-breated is the way to go. Double-breasted can get hot and if you unbutton them to cool off it looks like crap.
4. Make sure jacket sleeves are short enough where your shirt sleeves are visible. 1. It looks better. 2. The exposed shirt helps keep you jacket clean from sweat from the wrist/hand.

Most fashion "experts" agree that flat fronts look better/cleaner. Pleats do allow for more room so that's why you see so many old men wear them because they're fat/out of shape.

Perhaps you should buy something with a quad pleat so it looks like an accordion

i'll be interviewing for a job soon, and i'm shopping for a suit today. i know little about clothes and even less about businesswear, so i hope some of you can give me some tips on what to look for. i've already been told to look for light weight wool.

i'll be interviewing for academic jobs, so the suit should be conservative. i'll probably get something in light grey with no pinstripes and with two buttons. besides wearing the suit for interviews, i'll also have to wear it during 90 minute seminars that i'll be giving.

Just go naked. Most employers really enjoy some good old fashioned nudity.

I like pleats. Shame if they're out of style. But if the style window only lasts a year or so, I don't sweat it.

I still get a kick out of seeing someone without them.
