Re: Bravos\' $10K live challenge yo!
OK.. update..
I've been on vaca and just moved into my new house as well. April started crappy.. -$100 and -$345 in some super soft 6/12 games (only 7.25 hours total in those 2 sessions). Left for vaca (18 days) and was pleasantly surprised that the ship had a poker table. Finished up $360 in 29.5 hours of donktastic 5/10 no fold-em April total : -$85 and 36.75 hours played at -0.054BB/HR. Running totals : +$2,094 in 88.4 hours played @ 1.74BB/HR Haven't even played a single hand yet in May as we are still trying to settle into our new house (lotsa work happening there), but will be hitting up Bay101 tomorrow and hopefully meeting up w/ AK13. BTW, yes, I have a family, and yes I have a job, but thankfully my job does not suck! |

Re: Bravos\' $10K live challenge yo!
Good luck my friend =).
I wish I was not lazy and would keep track of everything. All I know is I've just started playing again about 5 weeks ago, started with $400 and now am up to $1520. I take some out for gas costs and whatever to get there, but roughly thats about right. I'll be seeing you at the 10k mark =). |

Re: Bravos\' $10K live challenge yo!
[ QUOTE ]
My game uses $1 chips as ante. So I used to pocket one (un-noticed) every time I posted a big blind. That way I had one for (roughly) every ten hands I played at the end of my session. [/ QUOTE ] Is that not against the rules where you play or do you just do it anyway? |

In a way, this is simply you "Refusing to use your chips to call a bet" in the future. You cannot win a few big pots, then slide that extra $100 chip you just won into your pocket. While you are playing, your winnings are part of your table stakes, and you cannot change that. ...Removing chips from the table during play is called ratholing, and it is not only against etiquette, it is against the rules in nearly all casinos, and may be cause for expulsion from the table or the casino. Now if I was slipping a full rack under the table, yeah, there could be a problem. I guess it just depends where you play, wether or not they enforce it. |

Re: Bravos\' $10K live challenge yo!
I agree it won't necessarily be enforced even if it is against the rules, I was just wondering if it was actually allowed where he is or if there just aren't enough sticklers for it to matter.
Even if a rule doesn't necessarily make sense, there are a lot of fish who get pissed off if any of them are broken because they don't necessarily understand the intent (after all if they knew the game that well they might not be fish). I've seen some ridiculous spectacles due to stuff like this. |

He actually called the floor over and complained that I was taking money off of the table by doing so even though I had > 30BBs on the table. The floor ruled in his favor and I took $10 out of my pocket and gave it to my friend. I was a bit irked, but I wasn't sure whom I was pissed at more.. the original nit or the floor. I know that if that $10 was a tip to a floorman or chip-runner, etc, it would of been ruled another way . Anyhow, karma raised up and dropped her anvil about 2 hours later! Old nit orders dinner and a glass of wine and begins to pay from his stack. I "politely" remind him to please not remove any $$$ from the table. He shoots me a death glance, and the dealer gives me a WTF look. 3 other people back me up here and he gets all bent and calls the floor over. The floorman comes over and starts laughing and makes him pay out of his pocket. It gets even better when the old fart doesn't have quite enough to cover his ~$30 tab. I really get a chuckle out of that. He looks at the girl that brought his food, then the floorman, then me with this befuddled look. I tell the floor that I am OK with him now paying out of his stack as long as he stops being a "grumpy old nit". Then the cherry on top was some guy in MP raising his BB like 2 seconds after he pays. I'm usually never a douche like that, but this guy got what he deserved. |
