Just wait until the 100K comes into play. It's lavender, making four denominations very similar in colour. [/ QUOTE ] Ok, I may be totally wrong here, but...how are lavender and peach/orange similar? |

ESPN is pissed about this as well. It would be nice for them to use their clout to insist on approval of the chip designs in advance for next year.

Everyone will hate it. Deep primary and secondary colors would be better choices. |

I remember the good old days when they made chips Black, Green and Red.... Seems they could recycle colors, but I guess they could be concerned about confusion in that scenario as well.
Maybe the $500,000 chip can be Mauve. |

Does anyone have any suggestions for how they should color the chips?

[/ QUOTE ] I'm starting to wonder if they brought in some kind of a color expert who decided to use some kind of color cheme: green felt, orange chips, violet (lavender?) accent. Interestingly, these three colors are equally spaced around the color wheel, which is called a "triad" in color scheme jargon. Here's a quote from the paint.org website: [ QUOTE ] By combining any three colors equal distance apart on the color wheel (or shades of those colors) a triad color scheme will be the result. A combination of purple, orange and green may sound outlandish, but subtle shades of those colors used in varying amounts can be an attractive scheme. [/ QUOTE ] Amazing what you can find with Google. The concept that having the chip colors "clash" might have very real practical uses seems to have been lost on whoever is responsible for this. I'm dying to see the lavender chip. For those of you who are a color ignorant as me, THIS IS LAVENDER. Man, that's hard to see on a white background. |

Green, Black, Purple, orange, yellow/gold, white, red, blue, gray This is not rocket science. Chip colors...geez! Who give a crap what the scheme is as long as it is easy to follow. They will not add/lose one entrant, or any TV marketshare based on chip color. |

[/ QUOTE ] Never underestimate the ability of clueless decision makers to make clueless decisions. It's easy to imagine some higher up deciding that the WSOP needed a sense of style and this was the result. |
