I requested a check over a week ago and haven't gotten it yet. I usually just drop it in the ATM as a deposit and never hear about it again.

I have received the same treatment with PS checks from my bank pre-legislation. Scrutiny, frowns, checking with supervisor, etc.

The checks have always cleared.

I have always requested checks in the past, several > $1,000. They have always put a hold on them. They have always cleared. You have nothing to worry about.

FWIW, very similar experience. Check request on Thursday; received by Fed-ex Tuesday. Bank places routine hold on check. I had a slight hiccup b/c I've always used Neteller (this was my first check w/d), so the PS system defaulted me to Neteller withdrawal, which obviously doesn't work. Email to support fixed problem in 30 mins.

Bottom line: Paper check withdrawal works fine for Stars.

I'm sure you'll get paid eventually, but it sure seems like Stars could avoid having a check that looks unusual, thus drawing attention to it.

it pops up as the only available withdrawal option when you request a withdrawal.

augie are you retarded? ALL checks have a holding period if you don't meet the requirements.

Requirements are usually:

length of account (if you just opened a checking account there last month, they WON'T give you cash)

Amount of your balance, AND average daily balance vs. the check amount (this is probably what did you in) If you have $2,000 and cash a $300 check, they'll give you cash, if you have $2,000 and you cash a $3,000 they WILL NOT give you cash and force the 5 day waiting period.

There's other things in there, like deposit history etc. But those are the big 2.

LOL. Exactly what I was thinking.

The last time I had a big check I took it into a teller and she said all the funds were available immediately. I think my bank account is flagged to allow this as I sometimes have a lot of $$ moving through it. So I will be curious to see what happens with the PS check.
