When exactly are you forced to go into FPS mode? And do all classes have to do it at least sometimes? And/or for long?

[/ QUOTE ]

You don't have to, which is great. The gameplay videos looked so bad because they were using the FPS mode. It's a little annoying that it defaults to FPS, so every time you travel between places that require load time- it'll put you in FPS mode. All you have to do is scroll down on the mouse a few times and you're back to third-person again.

Hopefully they are upgrading the servers right now, since they've been down for 2 days. The lag was pretty much unbearable... I couldn't kill anything because I was shooting at places the monsters were 10 seconds ago.

Demo + Marskman + Duel Wield pistols = tons of fun. HG:L lv 3 >>>>>> WoW / GW / LOTRO lv 3, thats for sure.

Its like playing Halflife 2 but you can upgrade your guns, customise your character etc. I lvoe how you can blow up the environment / barrels to kill your enemies.

Overall amazing game (im only just began the demo, 1st 5m is LAME tho).

ooooooh [censored] this is getting me all giddy. all the other beta users in the other hellgate thread had me second guessing whether or not I'd enjoy this, but now that i've read these reviews and heard what people here had to say... OMG

So patiently waiting a few weeks...

K, quickly ran thew demo as both classes.

Notes:
-In WoW the difference between my lv 60 31/8/12 (or w/e it was) rogue and my buddys lv 60 31/8/12 rogue was SOLEY equipment. In HG:L the difference is not just the spec but how much strength / stamina / accuracy / willpower they chose. Instead of the scripted: +2ag, +2str,+1sta,+1spirit, I can say "f that crap, +5strength" Which will result in a very different character than my buddy who prefers stamina

-Every class having sprint is cool, makes long walks much much better, but that dosnt seem to be a problem regardless.

-Dual Wiels > Big Gun

-The melee range is whack. It seems like you AoE 270 degrees and about 8m long. As far as I can tell (lol up to lv 3) Blademaster is just a huge hack and slack + (skill x, y, z), at the same time it was easier than Marksman but less rewarding.

-Random drops is sweet

-solo'ing bosses is very cool.

-tons of different monsters is cool

-Environment is VERY COOL

-Marksman is cooler than Blademaster.

Cant wait for Oct 31.

I'm only playing the engineer right now, but I've heard that the blademaster is pretty bad since he can't tank at all while the guardian can handle 100 monsters jumping all over him.

Engineer seems cool... after I gain a few more levels I'll probably try out a guardian or summoner.

I finally got my first beta invite today, but I used it for myeslf to sign up on the forums and whatnot (I won't be playing the beta, can't distract myself right in the middle of tests)

the forums are the beta version though, so I guess in a weeks time they're going to do a major rollback of all characters and forum content too.

from what I was reading on the forums it seems pretty awesome. they're encountering their fair share of bugs but they also esem to be a pretty good job of solving them. i won't be opening it on nov.1, more like nov.5 or 6th, i hope by that time they'll have patch 0 all going and any fo the major startup/login issues cleared up by then
