Maybe I guess. I didn't think I as attitudey. But I was a little surprised.
But I was obviously pretty happy to see my pre-flop matchup. "hot damn. DOMINATED!!"

After the flop was all spades I was like, "DOH!!"

Granny - for as long as I live I will be determined to re-pay the favor.
WATCH OUT!!!!!

Granny - what's up with us posting at the same time? Weird yet again.

I was debating on the AJs because there was an EP player as well as you in MP already in the hand. I was either in the SB or on the button.

But I think I was down to like 7 or 8 BB's. And I think it was the last hand of that level so I was about to be down to 4 or 5 BB's right away. I still had another orbit in me and I was afraid my AJ might be clobbered there. But I think it was the right play.

Besides, I had dinner reservations at the steak-house.

steakhouse was AWESOME. we had the seafood appetizer. all cold. 1.25lb lobster, 1lb king crab (both split open to perfection, so only cocktailf forks were needed), 6 oysters, 6 marinated mussels, and 5 of the biggest shrimp i have eaten in years. it was marked as "market price", so we did not know how much it was going to be as we never asked. after seeing and enjoying this amazing platter, i guessed the prive was going to be $75. it was $40. cheap AND unreal quality. then i had the 24oz grilled prime rib, bone in, and a side of the tastiest marsala mushrooms i ever ate. granny comes from a F&B background and i was truly impressed.

re: the aj, i was kidding. you must have been in the sb as i seem to remember bb, so for sure it was not button. the blinds were going up (too damn fast imo). you had to make the move.

well, I did barely debate it because it was you AND an EP player already in. I think he was tightish, and you had min-raised him I think.
So I did actually think about it a little.

Yes, the blinds move up on those things too darn fast.
The structure of the tourneys is definitely better at the Horseshoe.
But whatever, they're wacky donkaments and I'm just there to have fun and perhaps catch some miracles.

Agree the steakhouse is pretty good.
We ate at the Gold Strike steakhouse instead of Horseshoe this time where we usually go.
We were pretty impressed and I think we rate them about equally.
Service and atmosphere might be a shade better at the Horseshoe house but it's closeish.
Food seemed about the same quality.

Better than any steaks we're getting up in Memphis, that's for sure.

We really dig the minced-olive dippy stuff for the bread.

Horseshoe room definitely has better action than the G.S.
But they get the 1/2 and 2/5 NL going enough at G.S. and it's a decent enough room.
Big bonus that it is upstairs and away from the smoke and that might bring me back (along with the fact that Gold Strike keeps sending me free 1-night stay hotel coupons).
Horseshoe poker-room is non-smoking, but there's so much smoke surrounding it that you still come out smelling like an ash-tray.
