What's to stop the sites from running the same satellites and GIVING YOU CASH once you win the "seat"?...

Lol cashoutallites....

[/ QUOTE ]

That would be just the same as saying that You want to win 10k in ring games to pay for your main event buyin... Problem is, once you actually have the money you don't really wanna shell out 10k for such a huge variance event... Also, Guys with families and stuff, the wife would be ok w/ you winning your seat and playing in the ME, b/c once u have a seat there's no choice, but she is not gonna be too happy about you throwing a year or two worth of mortgage payments on a donkament.

[/ QUOTE ]

What would stop them from doing something like this:

$250 MTT with $280 rake
One $10k cash prize awarded for every $10k in the prize pool
An additional $10k will be credited to each winner's account, but only if they enter the WSOP

(in other words, a 500+30 WSOP satellite where the winners get $10k in spending money)

This isn't a terrible idea at all.

I really, really hope that the whole thing isn't true though. Could Harrah's be so stupid?

Here is an e-mail from Full Tilt. They will no longer be allowing their players to satellite directly into the WSOP or any other US tournament. I suspect that any other site that chooses to break the law by allowing US players to play there will do the same thing as Full Tilt. We'll probably be looking at pre-Moneymaker numbers in the Main Event next year. What a shame.

"Unfortunately due to the upcoming change in legislation Full Tilt Poker
will no longer be able to satellite US residents into live tournaments in
US. This policy will be effective immediately. There are currently 3
options that you have with your winner?s choice package.

1. We can credit your account with the $10K buy in. This money would be
yours to do with what you please. We will also send you a full assortment
of Full Tilt Poker gear and accessories.

2. You can choose to attend the WPT $10K tournament at the Falls View
Casino in Niagara Falls, Canada. This event starts on the 24th of Oct and
we would need to know by this Wednesday, the 11th if you would like to
play in this tournament.

3. You can choose to attend the Dublin All-Star Tournament in Dublin,
Ireland. This tournament begins on the 17th of Nov. The prize package
for this event is $8K so in addition to the $2k that you have already
received and the entry into the tournament, you would be credited another
$6K for travel expenses and spending money.

We are extremely sorry for this inconvenience and we hope that you can
understand the position that we have been put in because of the current
legal situation.

Please feel free to respond with any questions you may have along with
your decision about what you want to do with your prize package.

Thank you,

Team Full Tilt"

Yep, but when I won and chose to play at the Borgate Ainter POker Open, they immediately put 2K in my FT account, and then bought me in for the other 10K. I assume that'd be the same situation. Say you won like two weeks ago, and were still deciding between (I don't know) Foxwoods and Bellagio. 2K of your 12K is already in your account; you can then use that 10K to buy in to Niagara or Dublin or just put in your account.

Anyone know out of the 8773 players in the 06 Main Event how many qualified online and rough numbers for how many qed from say Party or Stars? I saw stats on this a couple months ago but I can't find it at all.

Thanks,
Brendan
