How can I fold to a flop raise? I'm not minraising his $35 or $40 flop bet (whatever it was).

Going to the flop we have $173 effective stacks.

He leads for $40 or $35, I think it was $40 actually.

He now has $133 left. It's a $40 bet to me. How can I raise to $80 (the minimum) and fold? Why would I minraise to $80?

If I'm raising it would be to like $130, which is a push and if I'm raising its to get value from JJ and JJ only and to fold out AK, since like I mentioned he's a straightforward nit.

My bad I was picturing bigger stacks. I cant see smooth calling the flop and not betting the turn good play, even vs a nit. If you smooth call the flop, I think its more likely he is going to continue to bet w kk/aa rather than c/r if he is uncreative. Hence you should be betting this turn to get him off his ak, due to the fact that its unlikely he is betting river unimproved.

Basically here are the combos:

AK- 16 different combos (I beat them all on the flop)
JJ- 6 different combos (I beat them all on the flop)
KK- 6 different combos (I lose to all of them on the flop)
AA- 6 different combos (I lose to all of them on the flop)

So I beat 22 combos of hands and I lose to 12 combos of hands on the flop.

16 of those combos of hands fold to a flop raise, 6 call that raise.

Of the 12 combos of hands I lose to unimproved I am getting called by all 12 of those combos of hands.

I really don't get what pushing does on the flop.

I probably should just push the turn since he's uncreative and won't likely bet ace high on the river but I don't know how profitable math wise it is weighing betting to fold out 16 combos of hands or 22 combos of hands (if you think he checks JJ on the turn) vs protecting myself from the stack a donk line which I believe I've seen him use before.

Really surpised at the responses in this thread. This hand is fine imo. Do you guys really think this guy is 3 betting 99 here and stacking off. I seriously doubt it. Protecting against a 6 outer also isn't really necessary, it's going to hurt you about 5-7% of the time.

This has to be him, yeah.

I have a limited sample with him but he was playing what looked to me like 10/8 ball.

Rudi,

have you played with him?

I guess your line isn't too out of order but definately wreaks of playing scared, if you play it like this every time. People three bet w/o AA KK fgators

[/ QUOTE ]

fgators is bad, but you are clearly worse
