Re: What\'s up with Gabe and his co-host always badmouthing each other?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] One of the funniest moments ever in television has to be when Kaplan did the final interview with main event winner Stu Ungar and asked him about the $500 bucks he had lent him. I'm cracking up now. [/ QUOTE ] That was one one of the saddest interviews I have ever seen. He asks him if he will get his life straight and he says something like I hope so. He probably got high that night. [/ QUOTE ] Agreed. The saddest thing about it is that Ungar keeps speaking about himself in the past tense, saying things like, "I made a lot of mistakes, but nobody was ever a better card player than I was." It's almost like he's writing his own eulogy. |

He said he was going to try to straighten up his life for his kid, but he never learned... selfish bastard imo.

[ QUOTE ]
In his winners speech on PAD, Gabe said Nejad played his under-set terribly but he was a young kid and he'd learn. Priceless. It does seem there's a higher than average amount of Americans that struggle with dry humour... .Z [/ QUOTE ] I've found him hilarious in all the interviews he does. One of my favorite "poker" personalities. He's very quick too. I think when he got knocked out on the last PDA thing he did, he had some good lines with Shana. <3 Gabe. |

It does seem there's a higher than average amount of Americans that struggle with dry humour... .Z [/ QUOTE ] True. Many of my countrymen are too wrapped up in over-analysis to appreciate dry wit. The past couple generations were raised on insult or physical humor -- jokes that go for the jugular to satisfy a quota of x number of jokes per half hour sitcom. |
