Hello,

As a tourist, this is a promotion I would like:

Room rate of $69/99 for 6 hours of play at 2/5 or higher NL or 8/16 or higher limit. (maybe 5/10nl, 15-30 lhe)

Would this attract "grinder" tourists like me?

Thanks,
Ethan

You can do what I do. Stay at the Monte Carlo for $50/night, get a random upgrade to a suite if no one else is there like I did, and then take the tram over to the Bellagio and play poker. :P

What is a "venetian"? Is that like a southeast asian tourist?

The Venetian runs a fantastic tournament. I played it on Sunday.

Any reduction for the lower limit games, or do the 4/8 players pay double the rake of the 15/30?

They already get a fair number of low limit players. Looks like they are trying to build up regular higher limit games so that the Bellagio isn't the only sure game in town.

the venetian is a lovely card room and very spacious. it should have all the business bellagio has and then some. they are generous with food comps if you play 30 or 60 or higher. wynn is nice but a little crowded. the floor and staff at bellagio are hideously rude. i will take my business to venetian all year, id rather play 30 or 60 there any day of the week anyway.

I'll be there in May. I was wondering where I was gonna play 8/16. No need to wonder anymore.

I really like the Venetian but they need to lose the $4 chips for the $8-$16 (if they haven't already). Looking forward to checking this out next weekend.

I thought they were giving like $5/hr in comps to the 40 game regulars last summer?

During the WSOP they were taking time every hour rather than every half, if you played in a WSOP event that day you payed no time, they gave everyone $2/hour on the card, and I never saw them ask anyone for a card when they had food brought to the table (myself included).

Even with all of this, they were only getting one or two tables going in prime time and they would generally break late at night. The games were generally pretty good.
