Obviously all this stuff is from the POV of someone who's a severe isolationist. Not saying it's all wrong, but this is NOT an impartial presentation of a possible outcome if the south had been allowed to secede.

How can you disagree with the notion that blacks, in general, can run faster and jump higher than whites?

Is it sinister to say that greyhounds are, in general, faster than beagles? Or Saint Bernards are, in general, bigger than Chihuahuas?

I love the pejorative terminology that has become the norm in discussions of American policy and history. Just because one doesn't support American imperialism, foreign wars, and interventionist foreign policies doesn't make one a "severe isolationist".

Actually, it is. You should read the books. They are quite detailed and superbly logically and factually supported.

It's probably the modern day political definition, but that's my point. It's a pejorative term that brings to mind images of a hermit in a cave not interacting or participating in the world. It's deceptive. I have an active social life and actively trade in the community, yet I don't blow up my neighbors' houses or attempt to install puppet-dads in their homes or plan their family budgets. Am I "isolated"? Better yet, am I "Severely isolated?"

I think the people who advocate protectionist trade policies are the actual "Isolationists". They're the kooks that want to turn the country into some survivalist compound for a ridiculous idea of "self sufficiency" and "energy independence" and the like. I.e. they want to destroy the division of labor and make us all poorer. They're the crazy hermits in the cave.

I can tell you like to argue politics. I don't. I could care less about the term, call it what you want. The author has an agenda he is trying to advance. He's not just objectively speculating what would have happened if the south had been left alone. To present his ideas as such (IE - w/o a preface) is bogus.

So you haven't read the books, have almost no idea what is in them, have no intention of reading them, don't care about politics, but have no problem asserting that you are right and I am wrong.

Good luck with that attitude.

I'm asserting your author has an axe to grind. Are you asserting he doesn't?
