I'd like to take this opportunity to remind those that say ND is not overrated that this team was ranked 29th in the first USA Today poll.

[/ QUOTE ]
Which illustrates how bad they really are. If they were actually average they would be ranked around #10-15 preseason.

this sucks and all, but its not like any ND fan really expected big things this year anyways

there are "talented" players on the team, however, and weis is doing a good job recruiting. the next 2 years are huge for his future (obv)

[/ QUOTE ]

Yea, its not like he just signed a TEN YEAR CONTRACT! Someone is no longer an offensive genius when he isn't told the other teams defensive play calls in advance. But still its all Tyrones fault!

Are any of those great recruits offensive linemen? Maybe it's time to take some people off of redshirt?

The current starting line has a 3 year starter at center, 4 and 5 star sophomores at right guard and tackle, and two 3 star juniors starting on the left side, with similar 4 star talent in the freshman and sophomore ranks backing them up. It's not talent, it's coaching, many other teams have done way more with less.

USC's starting center is a true freshman.

pretty embarrassing display today. I don't think any ND fans expecting anything this year. Too many young players. Too many big names left. No way in hell they go 0-12 though.

No matter how bad ND sucks, Duke is 10x worse.

[/ QUOTE ]

Duke beat Northwestern today, and they almost beat VA last week. NW has a fairly decent offense as well, and Duke held them to 2 TDs. ND has one of the worst offenses in Div IA.

Duke > ND imo.

Weis benefited hugely from the Patriots videotaping opponents defenses. He got milions to coach Notre Dame. Notre Dame has gone in the tank since then. I wonder if Bob Davie will use any of that as an excuse to fire him. It's similar to faking a resume.
