Not buying a book by ANY SNGer without their stats to back up their theory.

This is kind of stupid actually... results-oriented thinking. I'm looking forward to the book coming out because any attempts to find out if it will be any good have come back inconclusive.

Its not like the good folks at 2+2 are providing this forum out of the kindness of their own hearts. They're probably making a pretty decent chunk o change due to the fact that you and I read this forum on a regular basis. If they overcharge for their books I don't really feel guilty about buying them from cheaper competitors since 2+2 is already profiting from my presence.

[/ QUOTE ]

If you buy a book from this site, you are buying it from Conjelco, not from 2+2. And Conjelco provides the site (2+2 manages the content of the site) as a means of advertising their book sales, 2+2 and other titles. Conjelco does not overcharge for their books, but may not offer as big a discount as is available elsewhere.

Some of us regularly order books from Conjelco because:

1. we want to express our thanks for supporting the site; and

2. Conjelco gets and ships new 2+2 titles much sooner than any other book dealer.

I consider paying a couple of bucks more for a book here to be no different than tipping someone for exceptional service.

(1) It's only $20 and even if you only learn something small from it then most likely it will be worth the $20 many times over (as is the case with all poker books).

(2) If it turns out that you know everything contained in the book, then it's not really gonna such a bad thing to revise what you already know.

(3) Finally, even if there's stuff in the book you disagree with and think is wrong then it will have at least forced to to think more about the game to decide on why you think the advice is wrong.

Mason and the 2p2 crew must have liked something about the text or they wouldn't have gone through with publishing it.

I think it's safe to say that just like the rest of the poker world, Mason has no idea about proper SNG strategy.

As has been pointed out numerous times, the best SNG players in the world post here and not one of them was contacted for thoughts on this book.
