I don't like the turn raise either. Help me understand your thinking on that street. What did you think he thought you had after the pre-flop and flop action?

In other news...WTF did LP calling station have?!? Had to be a AQs or AJs. He's a big donator in that game, I bet. Nice to have him around to sweeten your odds.

My thinking was basically along the lines of TSP's post, I planned on checking the river if I didn't improve and I thought since I'll be calling down for two bets anyway, I'll raise since:

He probably has AK, 99, or AA, + a small chance of some other hand that we're ahead of. He won't 3-bet me holding AK. Maybe not even w/ 99 since I could very well hold aces from his perspective. I've got a fair number of outs if behind, and is there a small chance he folds a hand like AK/AQ?

I'm not saying it was right, that's why I posted it, maybe I did give a bit too much action here.

i posted my line above.

here, i disagree with you tsp. when you are 3 bet on the flop out of position (your opponent believed in his hand enough to give you the chance to 4 bet) why raise the turn? i would rather pay the 2 same bets and show down vs raise here and fold. in the unlikely event that you are ahead he has very few outs to beat you. (again see thoughts posted above)

The turn raise is pretty bad, as is the rive call. The only thing you beat on the river is A4s, so it's probably a fold.

dont be insane. the turn raise seems silly, but the river i definitely a call.
22 bets in the pot man.

the pot is huge, but it only is huge because hero spewed on the turn. i think it is closer to a call if hero just called the turn, but by raising the turn hero has defined his hand, and it ain't no good.

For the poster saying fold the river - are you folding the river assuming you don't rasie the turn ?

Your original plan if he called your turn raise was to check the river unimproved. So, after he three bets your raise, you call a river bet unimproved? That doesn't add up. Stick with your original idea of not putting in any money on the river if you get no help.

When I was running poorly earlier in the year, I played a lot of hands like this. The turn action told me I was done, but I called it down because I had top pair good kicker in a big pot.

Sir, please don't comment about hands played at a limit you have no familiarity with. No offense intended, but it might be misleading to the community.
