are you taking her shopping? or is she coming along to help you shop?

p.s. either way, its a terrible first date.

[/ QUOTE ]

can you please explain and recommend a better alternative?

[/ QUOTE ]

bring her to a party/bar and get her wasted - not hard
plus, maybe you'll grow some balls when you're drunk

or ask her out to dinner or event that only couples usually do (not shopping like gays)

how old are you?

since you are so shy/lame with girls

good first date for you = something very short/easy that you can't [censored] up.

then if that goes good, you have something to talk to her about/ask her on a 2nd, not as short/lame date.

Can't I try the tie shopping idea just to test the waters? Once we actually drive somewhere together i think I'll have a much better idea if I'll be able to take her on a real date.

I don't necessarily think the shopping thing will place me forever in the friend zone. It was recommended by a female 2p2er as a first date..

edit: tisfire, I like your ideas, I just think they are sort of risky. Like I said, I think going shopping is risk free and can be used as a springboard to real dates if it doesn't go terribly.
