[ QUOTE ] I thought it was pretty weak that he didn't win. The dude who edged him out should have given him the gold medal as an act of good samaratianship (is that even a word?) [/ QUOTE ] best of the best was a great movie [/ QUOTE ] lmao wp |

In the slow-mo replay you can see him make a pretty good split second adjustment right before he hits. Truly amazing that he walked away from this. [/ QUOTE ] yeah... he did a good job to take the hit on his hip / butt area... if he would have come down as is (on his arm or leg)... it would shattered into 1,000 pieces. Good save |

I can't stop watching the part, a mere ten seconds after the fall, where the announcer says, "Wow, I can't believe he made a 720."

Also, what does your softball game have to do with the story?
What are you, racist? |

Re: Skatebord Wipeout at last night\'s X Games
I watched this at the casino last night, def. the worst slam I've ever seen. What was pretty sick was the guy that went after that (Bob Burnquist? can't remember), has a nice smooth run. That had to be tough to do after watching that happen to someone.

[/ QUOTE ] i also thought this was amazing. like the guy was laying there and hadn't moved yet. but wtf at whoever said the gold medal winner should've given it to him. everytime someone falls hard/ gets injured in the [censored] X-GAMES someone is going to give them the medal out of sportsmanship? |

[/ QUOTE ] I think the fact that he landed on just a teeny bit of curve really helped redirect some of the impact laterally. If he lands on pure flat I really think his hips get crushed or something. Crazy anyway. |

Re: Skatebord Wipeout at last night\'s X Games
You know, when he comes off that board - like 20 feet over and 10 feet from the edge of the ramp - he's in an area that basically no one sould ever be. I wonder if they could put something there, not sure what, that maybe would knock you back to the vertical part of the ramp, or you could push off it. Or maybe a net down below or something. Dude could very easily have died. Which might not be too great for the sport.
