It will cost you more coin than going to any other game this year, but if you've got the cash, the easy pick is USC @ Nebraska, in Lincoln, Sat. night, 7 pm, 9/15.

This is the premier non-conference matchup in the coutry this season, and with #1 coming to Lincoln for a night game the atmosphere will be crazy (I believe NU has only lost 2 home night games in their history). This is probably a once in a lifetime opportunity, as I doubt these two greats will play each other again the next 20+ years, barring a post-season matchup.

Fla @ LSU would probably be my second choice, but they play in the same conference so it's not like they're never going to play each other again.

USC @ Nebraska

Who cares if it's the premier non-conference matchup when there are tons of in-conference games (in better locales) that will likely be far more significant this year?

Another perk of this game is that there will be more beautiful women per sq ft here than anywhere in the country on that Saturday. All SEC schools have hot chicks, but these two have the best IMHO (UF can probably be grouped with them though).

There are some ladies at Ole Miss that would like to have a word with you. I went to a LSU/Ole Miss game when I was 15 and thought I had died and gone to heaven.

I flew to Knoxville last year for the Cal UT game and it was unbelievable. You can't go wrong going to any major SEC game. Austin is incredible too, going to a big game at Texas could be sweet.

UT is a good atmosphere.
Had awesome seats for a game they played in 2002 vs. Arkansas that went to 6 freaking OT's.
Good stuff.

We will be trying to make it to one of FSU's games this year since we are temporarily living in the area.
Not as great a team these days but still one of the better college football atmospheres in the country I suspect.

I saw this today...from ticketcity. Top avg. prices for tickets to this year's games:

1 Penn State vs. Notre Dame September 8 State College, Pa. $1,100.00
2 Michigan vs. Ohio State November 17 Ann Arbor, Mich. $1,000.00
3 Notre Dame vs. USC October 20 South Bend, Ind. $950.00
4 Michigan vs. Notre Dame September 15 Ann Arbor, Mich. $696.00
5 Notre Dame vs. Boston College October 13 South Bend, Ind. $661.00
6 Florida vs. Florida State November 24 Gainesville, Fla. $581.00
7 Auburn vs. Alabama November 24 Auburn, Ala. $571.00
8 Texas vs. Oklahoma October 6 Dallas $555.00
9 Georgia vs. Florida October 27 Jacksonville, Fla. $515.00
10 Nebraska vs. USC September 15 Lincoln, Neb. $505.00

If money is no object, I would choose Ohio St/Michigan, USC/ND, or Bama/AU (biased obv.) Contrary to the earlier post, I would not want to go to Nebraska/USC. There are no rivalry aspects to it, and there are no championship implications, except national championship implications for USC if they get upset, but they will likely be better than 2 TD favorites.

I can't believe we made it this far without anyone mentioning Penn State hosting Notre Dame.

Decent non-conferance rivlary, plus ND whipped PSU last year and they want revenge. It's a night game in Happy Valley, what more could you want?

Outside of the big SEC tilts, it's probably your best bet (along with Mich/tOSU LDO), but tix are hella expensive.

The downside to the ND/PSU tilt is it will be a low-scoring ugly game. PSU has a very good D again, but both teams figure to be weak on offense, especially at QB (unless Morelli makes a leap, which isn't THAT unlikely). So while the atmosphere will be fun and you'll get to see Notre Dame lose, it'll be a 17-3 game or something with awful quarterbacking. Bleh.

if you want to lay 2 TD against the Corn at home, I will be happy to take that action.

I think a better bet is tOSU at PSU Oct 27th, also a night game.

btw, seeing that ND ticket price made me think about selling the student tix for a second
