That reminds me. A bar back home had a fancy sign hanging on the wall that said, Iitywybmad. After several visits, I finally asked a regular what it meant.

"If I tell you, will you buy me a drink?"

"Just tell me."

"If I tell you, will you buy me a drink?"

This went on for a while.

And since this story has kicked my brain back to the early 80's, a high school friend of mine was fond of DILLIGAF (do I look like I give a F?).

What is now called "The University of Northumbria" was originally going to be called "Central University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne".... It wasn't until they had all the official paper, signposts, etc, printed up until they realised their massive error!

My brother used to be in a Quake clan back in the day called INAAMF

Its Not An Acronym Mother F'er


I always thought it was kinda funny to hear him explain it to people.

Same thing like the Newcastle University.

It's a German Acronym, but I guess it will be understandable. There is this TV show which was supposed to be called "Alles nur aus Liebe" (it's just because of love), it's a telenovela and these things tend to get acronyms very fast here. Now it's called "Verliebt in Berlin" (in love in Berlin) and the original title is still the name of the opening song...
