Ok, get this. You're a young up and coming hotshot. You finally get your heads up match against "The Man", a tough seasoned pro who has busted tons of up and comers like yourself. The game is 5 card stud. On the river, you have (A)ATAT. He catches a Jd, to have a board of 9d8d7dJd. You check, he fires 2000 into the massive pot. You checkraise him all in for another few thousand. He pulls out 6k more and lays it on the table. You don't have the money to cover it, but he says you can owe him. What do you do?

Interesting hands? This hypothetical situation, where you flop a straight flush, and contemplate folding. Are you serious?

This probably belongs in Psychology..

If you're in a game where you are not willing to put in all your money here, then you are playing with more than you can afford to lose obviously, and shouldn't be playing. So, this would never happen to most of us.

Since in the hypothetical it is happening, then I AM crazy enough to risk my whole bankroll on one hand, so I absolutely push with the second nuts. He can easily call with a worse hand here.

If you answered "check", then I assume you are going to be immediately leaving the table after this hand (with your last ~$400k (if you check and lose) or your ~$2mil (if you push and win) because you are obviously to scared to be risking what you have in front of you.

I'd say you are ahead more than 80% of the time here even if your bet/push is called, which is better than the chance of your AA holding up when you push preflop, which I have to assume you are willing to do with whatever amount you have sitting in front of you.

Granted it was a dumb post, but give the guy a break, he seems to be a nice guy.

yvesaint, your comment was priceless though.

what if you're playing 25/50 heads-up no-limit and it's all the money you have in the world and if you don't pay grandma will beat you up and you're covering for your friend worm who bailed on you

and what if you raise and then he makes it 5000 and you have pocket cowboys

do you play like johnny chan or do you bail
