What is the best PC video game?

As some others have pointed out, BF2 is pretty sweet. It's the only game that I will play when I'm not pokerizing.

BF2142 would be the only other one I consider at this point, but from what I played in the Demo when it first became available, it wasn't what I expected it to be. I am going to wait a while to get on the 2142 wagon, because I really haven't even broken the seal with BF2 (and I've been playing for months). I would like to see some more updates/patches for BF2142 before I decide to buy it.

There are plenty of players still on BF2, and it should be like that for a while. If you want to get a new game, go for this one.

I still play quake 2 CTF regularly. Starcraft will never go away. Counterstrike is awesome.

We should get a BF:2 game some night, I play pretty much every night for a couple of hours. get a 2+2 squad.

1) Ultima Online (pre trammel)
2) Warcraft III (but only because of DotA Allstars)
3) Counterstrike (1.6 ftw)
4) Starcraft
5) Worms

fwiw the demo of bf2142 is crap because there is no titan mode, I guess its person dependent, but if you like a bit of objective strategy in a game besides kill kill kill, titan mode is a very addictive addition to the bf series.

I've never tried but I would imagine trying to lead a squad on a public server would be like trying to get a bunch of five year olds to clean a mansion.

You need a great deal of team co-ordination to mount effective offenses.

I disagree, I feel that if a player is goign to go to the effort of going a sqaud, they seem to have the realization that they should do as the squad does. I've seemed to think that it's the squad leader that makes the difference, if he is able to communicate and actually give orders, it goes pretty well. Especially on a public server, because, so few actually do it, that, if one does, he seems to crush.

Played a round last night were the silly americans didn't cap a single base, a shutout essentially.

I finally quit that game forever. I gave all my crap to my guild and deleted my (sick) characters so I would never go back. [censored] game.
