Re: DN watches Al Gore\'s movie and makes major life changes....
Al Gore will announce his running after winning an Oscar, you heard it here 10th. As for Daniel, delaying the rapture is clearly -EV.

Re: DN watches Al Gore\'s movie and makes major life changes....
25% of carbon emissions comes from Cars. Is that meaningless?
If you could increase your poker profits by 25% by removing your bad plays, would you say "Hey man, I'm fine with the other 75%" Sign on a church - "What is going on inside - if true, is extremely important". Same is true for climate change. Difference - there is no real evidence of the divine, and plenty of evidence on climate change. Those claiming otherwise consider the long term consequences to be born by our progeny to be better than them having to take the bus. |

Re: DN watches Al Gore\'s movie and makes major life changes....
What is DN's status in the US? Is he a Canadian citizen who gets 6mo vacation visas and goes back for a week every 6mo and returns on a new 6mo visa? Does he have a greencard? You'd have a hard time telling from most of his political writing that he isn't a voting US citizen--he isn't, is he?

Re: DN watches Al Gore\'s movie and makes major life changes....
Why is it the U.S government's responsibility to fix the problem, shouldn't the whole world be helping? In the 70s they thought we were headed towards another ice age. I highly doubt that global warming will end life on the Earth within 50 years.

Why is it the U.S government's responsibility to fix the problem [/ QUOTE ] Well it isn't entirely our responsibility, but uh, we started it and are also one of the biggest roadblocks to fixing the problem. |

[/ QUOTE ] Find someone who thinks only the US should be concerned about this and only the US should be responsible for taking steps to prevent it and then make this argument to them. Good luck finding imaginary people. |

Re: DN watches Al Gore\'s movie and makes major life changes....
[ QUOTE ]
I find it amazing that the US Govt has managed to cast so much doubt over the impact we're having on the environment. I have the impression (possibly wrongly) that the majority of Americans believe there just isn't a problem. [/ QUOTE ] Americans do not care about global warming, they are too busy watching paris hilton on youtube. The US Govt. and the Oil Cartel have an incentive to dispute the global warming findings. They even tried to pay scientists to dispute the findings. While the rest of the world is working on shifting from the burning of fossil fuels to using nuclear power for mass energy, the USA is going to continue burning coal and consuming massive amounts of oil. |

He reminds me of Alicia Silverstone in Clueless or something. [/ QUOTE ] You give him too much credit. The chick she played was much brighter than Daniel. |
