Re: Continuation Betting: A glimpse of recent theory in my brain.
with a hand like AK on a 8 9 10 board, it is definitely give up time imo.
you have raised preflop with the gamble that: you win pf you hit A or K it is a good board to c-bet at. the flip side of the pf raising gamble is you miss and its a bad board to c-bet at. thus, as wise gamblers, we don't pay off when we lose our pf raising gamble, such as on boards like 8 9 10. i just wish there were still loads of dump players still playing online so i could sit there and wait to scoop those pots rather than actually have to think about poker theory...urrghh.... |

Re: Continuation Betting: A glimpse of recent theory in my brain.
By checking wet flops like 8 9 T with AK, don't we have to be willing to check here with TJ also and especially QJ to give a thinking opponent the ability to "take it away on the turn" (in his mind) and increase our EV?
Obv not every time, but probably with similar frequency that we do with these so-called "showdown value type hands" like AK and small PPs. |
