Re: What\'s amount of profit is considered \"killing\" 1/2 NL?
[ QUOTE ]
What seems wierd to me is that your 1-2 nl game has a 100$ max buy in, this sucks. my local game is 100 min, 1000 max 1-2 NL, the game is awesome btw. [/ QUOTE ] $1000 for 1-2?!? Holy crap. What's the next level up? uncapped? I know $100 is small for 1-2...stupid foxwoods, it should be $200 or $300 imo. I plan to play more 2-5 soon ($500 max) - I just gotta stop spending my poker money on things other than poker (girlfriend, bar, smokes, food, hookers (j/k),etc etc...it is nice not to have to go the the ATM though ) |

Plus, I've had many nights where I've won over $1000 in one session. The games are so easy it's ridiculous. |

Re: What\'s amount of profit is considered \"killing\" 1/2 NL?
i used to play the 1-2NL at f'woods regularly. I was beating the game for a while, but didn't keep a log until last winter/spring. From Jan 1st 2005 until late may 2005 i made $16.33 per hour. This was over 496 hours. Hand wise, this isn't a conclusive sample size, but it's all i got(I'd guess about 14,000 hands. I think all things considered, i was running averagish over the course of said sample. I don't think i'm capable of extracting much more money then this out of the 'woods game, but maybe some can.

on avg I think $50/hr for 2/5NL or 3/5NL or 5/5NL is more than reasonable if you're playing well and not running bad [/ QUOTE ] iM UP 6800$ FOR 2006 IN LIKE 135 HOURS.....live only.. Pretty sure I am running well though....but I could really only count like 3-5 mistakes after each session so maybe not....maybe these are just routinely beatable games at rates like this? The scary thing is I have a job where I make decent money and have phenomenal healthcare....but am seriously getting tempted to just sit in a 2-5 game all week and scrap 800-1200 bucks from it like I know I can as long as I play disciplined poker and use elementary game selection skills. |

Re: What\'s amount of profit is considered \"killing\" 1/2 NL?
It seems a little silly to get drawn into a discussion about when you should be allowed to say you're "killing" a game rather than just beating it, but for limit...
2bb/100 is a sustainable win rate online for a good player. "Killing" a game, to me, indicates that you're beating it at a rate that raises eyebrows over a sample size that's starting to move away from the short run. Say 3.5BB/100+ over 75k hands (online). To my mind, killing a game is usually unsustainable. If someone was refering to one B&M session, I'd assume they were up 100+ BB. |

Re: What\'s amount of profit is considered \"killing\" 1/2 NL?
100-1000 hours of live play is not exactly a decent sample size....I've seen results on limit HE play in that hour range that average 4-6BB an hour, which there is no way in hell thats sustainable. Simply running hot.

Haha, I almost mentioned that because I knew someone would correct me. You are correct, max buy-in at Harrahs and Bally's is only $200. $300 is the standard in AC though. -Yarney [/ QUOTE ] I played at Bally's Saturday night. I made $36 an hour over 12 hours, and thought I was killing it. |
