TI is a cool, hip place for the reasonable price. Nice rooms, great buffet, and definitely the best place to hit up the bar/club out of the three options you mentioned.

The poker room is small but intimate--I like the social atmosphere there. Game selection wise, I know that they run 1-3 NLHE all the time (9-handed, which I think is a plus) and they also run mixed games and any other limit games whenever they have enough players to play them. They used to run 5-10 NL during WSOP but I would stroll over to Venetian or Wynn for higher stakes action. TI also has daily tournaments three times a day (you can play a tourney at 4 in the morning!).

If you are looking for a nice pool in Vegas, I wouldn't miss out on the Rehab at Hard Rock on Sundays. You may be spending a few bucks on cab and cover (free for ladies) but it will be worth it.

Hope it helps.

Stardust must have one of the oldest poker rooms on the strip. I played in it in the 70's. The last time I was there they also had a huge high hand or bad beat jackpot, I can't remember which. It hasn't been hit in years, it seems.

Also don't forget that TI have the most beutiful pokermanager i ever seen, Jessica(?) Gonzales was her name i think. I Also liked the daily MTT ($60) pretty good structure and many loose players, to bad that i just played it once.

She is silly hot. Kudos to the doc that did her boob job.
TI also has nice pics on their tables and a good 1/3NL ($500max) game. They also frequently run a mixed game if that's your thing.

On a somewhat related topic I was thinking about going down to ti tomorrow to ask for an audition(they are one of the only rooms hiring at the moment) and was wondering what my chances are of actually getting a shot. I would be willing to work part-time or on the steady extra board and I like working the grave shift(It was my regular shift at the wsop). Any info would be most helpful.

One of the only? A quick check of the RJ on their website yesterday came up with 8 or 9 casinos locally that are hiring poker dealers. Mind you, pretty much all of them will be insanely hard to land because of the sheer number of dealers looking for work. And the work will be extra board doing tournaments on grave/mornings most places. Others the extra boards could be any day/any shift/any time. You could do swing today, days tomorrow, grave the next and then have 9 days off till your next day.

Also, avoid "on call" because you are usually only allowed to turn down 1 or 2 shifts per month or you lose your on call status and are removed from employment. This sucks balls if you work a regular job and the room calls you wanting you to work a day you're already scheduled somewhere else.

update on TI...

a new restaurant called Social House is opening up labor day weekend (soft opening). It's an asian bistro, some sushi, mostly like kobe (sp?) beef and stuff...created by Pure management, at 11pm the tables sink into the ground and it becomes a lounge.

It is also located directly above the Tangerine club for quick access...

looks to be a good time (plus one of my roomates is working there so good times are to be had)

why would anyone ever go downtown?

[/ QUOTE ]

Appx 12-15 hours of my recent Vegas trip was spent doing the following:

Walked down Fremont. Between LV Bl. and El Cortez, there is a little cigar place. Dude rolls his own on an old machine he has. $4-5 a cigar. They last about an hour and a half. Walk back up the street to Fitzgeralds. Walk upstairs to Vu Bar. Buy a 16oz draft Bud or Bud light for $1.75. Go outside onto the balcony. Very comfy. Maybe 100-105 degrees outside, but under the canopy combined with the misters conspire to make it feel much cooler. Watch the cute women walk by downstairs...just lay back and enjoy. Best of all....burn 4-5 hours on only $10-12 or so.

Get drunk as f@ck and talk sh!t to the bartenders at Hogs & Heffers, then (a) go to room of drunk chick you picked up and nail her or (b) go play drunk poker at Binions.

What's she look like? Was she on the graveyard shift?

Also, I'll second all of the comments that have been made about the room... nice intimate setting, really friendly dealers and staff. I was somewhat disappointed the Tangerine Mixer never got off the ground when I was there, but I also only played during the day and then late at night (midnight-6am). I was also a big fan of the tables, but got somewhat distracted by them....

My gf and I are considering a trip to LV in the next few months. Since pools are being discussed here, does anyone have a review/commments on the "European" pools in LV?
