Re: I river an A after my 2nd barrel got called
[ QUOTE ]
sure hero is ahead nearly always here, he'd raise sets/flushes (flush draws)/9s earlier, his most likely holding is a pp with a spade. [/ QUOTE ] His sets are already filled up (or quads), he'd have no reason to raise when Hero is betting at him, and I think that's most of his range of "real" hands here. It's also quite reasonable for a flush to call on the turn, the parley of river spade/Hero with higher spade is slim. [ QUOTE ] Might aswell put him in a tough spot. [/ QUOTE ] Why is this a tough spot for Villain if Hero shoves? It seems like an extremely easy spot. |

Re: I river an A after my 2nd barrel got called
he'd likely raise a flush draw on the flop and set. he is agro. he'd be pretty dumb to only raise air here and slow play monsters.
it's a tough spot because that A looks like a good bluffing card |

Re: I river an A after my 2nd barrel got called
Does everyone like the 2nd barrel? It doesn't look like a great card to me. If villain had a hand on the flop, I don't think he will fold on that turn, unless he likes to call cbets very light.

Re: I river an A after my 2nd barrel got called
GRUNCH:
I don't mind the second barrel. he could be floating with all kinds of PPs TT-22, str8 draws that will fold to a second barrel. The turn call narrows his range a fair bit, but it could still include combo draws now, maybe some mid-PPs with a spade. I would VB river and hope he doesn't believe me. i don't think C-F is good the way the hand was played out. |

[/ QUOTE ] I agree with this, if you're going to check river, you have to call villains bet here because you are inducing alot of hands to bluff at it as you look really weak on river when checking. |

Re: I river an A after my 2nd barrel got called
This really seams like a bigger pair to me.. I couldnt see him doing this with a 6, a boat often. He might do it with a 9, but with those stats that is not really likely. So i shove here.

pot it, let him make a hero call, thinking you just made a desperate bluff.

Re: I river an A after my 2nd barrel got called
If you've read PNLH V1 they talk alot about these types of hands. One of the main points of the book is you put yourself into this bad situation by how you bet PF.
For those saying bet for value on the River, what worse hands you think BTN calls 3 street here? The read is he is a competent player. You really think a competent player is going to stack off with AJ or TT-KK on a paired, 3 flush, A high board? |
