Re: fold or push? late in 16$
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I'd say you are pushing tight. [/ QUOTE ] lol i might be wrong but pushing with T9 is imo a bluff you might as well push ATC because he's not calling with anything below T9 i tought you should be playing tight on the bubble [/ QUOTE ] no, you push loose and call tight on the bubble. Of course you don't want to get called when you push with 10-9. |

Re: fold or push? late in 16$
with what hand would you have called this push in the BB?
And why not push ATC then? |

Re: fold or push? late in 16$
thats the point, you should be willing to push just about ATC.
Probably can call with most 77+ or AJ+ Maybe even wider. Just guessing off the top of my head. |

Re: fold or push? late in 16$
but if you know someone is willing to push ATC your calling range should be a lot wider right?
especially if you have him covered and a shortstack at the table about to go out. |

Re: fold or push? late in 16$
yes you should, but why risk being left with 900 chips when someone is about to go out?

Re: fold or push? late in 16$
because you probably have the best hand and if you fold your chances of finishing 1st or 2nd are small and if you double up 2nr place is almost certain

Re: fold or push? late in 16$
its a very clear push to me now. if i studied a little more math, with the range of calling hands i had him on... i would have shipped them in in a second. just needed Kevin to point that out to me. and thank you for doing so. its an obvious hand to me at least. (now.) thanks, you guys rock.

[/ QUOTE ] If he loses he only has 910 chips left (1.15BB) and is almost certainly AI on the next hand (his SB) with no FE if he gets to open push. That's a huge risk to take. BBs calling range has to be very tight here - tighter than if there was no maniac shortie. That's why we can push ATC - we know he's very unlikely to have a hand he can call with. |
