Well, because he's a chairman of a committee his legislation might make the floor if Franks wants a symbolic vote. I think the bill gets some of the Black Caucus, the Nevada delegation, a smattering of civil libertarians and Barney Frank. 218 votes needed to pass I think the bill gets the mid 40's.

The reason I haven't called my reps yet is because I really have no idea what to say. I'm planning on calling Barney Frank just to tell him that I support what he's doing against the UIGEA, but I really have no idea what to say to my reps (I live in northern VA, FWIW). If someone could give some suggestions I'll HAPPILY make the call(s).

They could always pull a 109th and attach the repeal on a completely different bill and Pelosi could hold the vote at like 10pm on a Monday. Easy peazy, Japanesey.
