It's absolutely standard. Some people just are not comfortable speaking in public. Other people feel a need to fill silences with something, like "you know," "um," "uhh," etc. Athletes are notorious for this.

Are you kidding me? Have you ever listened to professional athletes speak before? If you were honestly surprised by TO, give Cameron Maybin a listen when baseball season starts.

I found the interview to be pretty entertaining, by the way. TO and Shaq are two athletes that I don't particularly care for, but really like to listen to.
