FWIW, I felt KK here 90% of the time given the odds and how we got to the river.

I agree,
KK is a felt,

but I think AJ should be a easy fold here.

i haven't played much NL, but isn't the pot control check supposed to be used when you have more than one bet left?

against a tag there arent a tremendous amount of hands that he's calling with here OOP. yes, its a blind battle, but there still arent tons of hands calling.

also, how are you handling a c/r? hopefully your calling because b/f isnt great.

i'm not saying i check everytime. probably 50/50.

that thread has some decent thoughts in it. not near the same situation, but the pf/flop play is semi relevant.

You realize in terms of relative hand strength they're essentially the same hand?

Not exactly...QQ is a pretty likely holding.

Gotta be honest - I completely agree with this and was thinking about it when I wrote the response.

Strangely enough, I'm a bit more hesitant to felt the jacks here even though I agree that they're the same hand. He has QQ here never.

Obviously this hand is very read / opponent dependent, and I realize that a ‘nuts or air’ line like this, in the absence of information is, in a lot of peoples minds, an obvious fold. Still, I can’t help but think that unless the ten hit him on the river, a standard tag would have tried to get value out of a hand larger than top pair on earlier streets with a FD on the board.

I’d add that I would expect a very strong hand from a solid player to valuebet the river as our hand doesn’t look that strong. Your hand looks like what it is at best – a 1 pr hand or missed draw. Maybe even Ace hi. I think a small value bet is more likely from a big hand unless there is some serious leveling going on here (and there’s not – it’s NL100)
