You can't possibly believe that the Democrats would be more fiscally conservative than the current administration, just because that administration has abandoned its traditional base, can you? At least the economic growth spurred by tax rate cuts offer some hope of paying for the profligate spending. With the Dems more will be spent, and the economy flushed on top of it.

Well, considering we have had many Senates and Houses controlled by Democrats in the modern era of both parties, and none have increased spending at the level this Congress has, I would be optimistic. And even if you don't think the Dems will exercise restraint, you have a Republican president, who will veto opposing party bills like any good partisan politician would. This conflict alone would slow spending, considering Bush's refusal to veto anything passed through the current Congress.

Whats the difference really? The GOP stronghold on the government has done nothing that even remotely resembles fiscal responsibility so why on earth would I want to continue with status quo? Government Gridlock is a very appealing option at this point to me, and given this administrations complete disregard for checks and balances I am more than willing to take oversight of the executive branch as well.

As far as national security goes, neither party will do anything worthwhile. You're free to believe otherwise, but the facts are there if you ever want to take a sober look at things.

So yeah, I will be rooting for the GOP to lose as many seats as possible. If nothing else they need to be sent a message.

This is false unless you're using a very narrow definition of modern. As a percentage of GDP per year, spending increased more under Ford and under Johnson.

[/ QUOTE ]Those are users, not those engaged in politics online. The Left absolutely dominates the political blogosphere. For example, dailykos.com gets more traffic than the top 50 right-wing blogs online.

Also if you look at polling of who gets their news online (not just uses the internet) it's majority Democrats.
