I like how you played it vs an unknown. Against thinking/aggressive TAGs who know this line means JJ-KK when you take it, you can consider calling another street. Also against aggro donks who bet/bet/bet at any sign of weakness.

Sorry for being so dumb.

Why are we calling on the turn, if we are going to check-fold the river? Because he might be valuebetting the turn with a smaller pp? Or hes just bluffing and wont fire again on the river? Isnt this bit meh without reads?

Against an unknown we have expect that hes playing right and wouldnt valuebet a weaker hand here (what can he expect to be called with?).

Readless, I just cbet the flop and shut down if I get action.

I actually call here. Villian will show 88-QQ a lot.

Against any reasonably thinking villain, he can put you on KK/QQ by the turn with almost absolute certainty. Weaker hands youd probably have cbet with on this board.

You are checking AK/AQ on both turn and flop OOP very rarely if ever.

That's why I now like calling river as played. You will see a lot of bluffs here.

This hand is so much easier if you c-bet $50-$60, I'd lean towards $60.
