A similar situation happened to me last year when I was went an email saying that if I didn't send a thank you, I would posibly lose out on the scholarship. I refused to do so and it wasn't taken away.

wow.
Here's an idea: how about calling them up, and flipping out on them because you say that you already sent them a thank you? Just claim that you sent a thank you at the beginning of the semester, and you don't understand AT ALL why they didn't get it/freezing your money. Just flip out, tell them you sent it, and tell them if it's that big of deal, you'll send another one... but make them look like the bad guy. |

[ QUOTE ]
I 100% believe this email. We got letters every fall asking us to write our scholarship's donors to thank them. It wasn't a "you should send them a letter." It was a "you may submit your letters to us by XXXX date." [/ QUOTE ] Hot damn, you people go to pushy colleges. I'd get something similar, but it was never like what OP (or even Wyman) is getting. They'd tell you (yes, multiple times) about sending holiday cards to scholarship donors, but I've never really felt obligated to do it. I have anyway, but I haven't seen this kind of arm twisting. |

Yeah, i've never heard of this arm twisting either. Actually holding up your money until you send a thank-you card is bizarre. Did you have to meet the donors before you got the scholarship?

No. I didn't apply for the scholarship either. It was just one of those things they gave to me to try and get me to come.
