I think 4-6 is optimal. Saying that I play 12 at 50/1... I used to play 12 fast tables, that was intense. If I bump it up to 1/2 I play 9. The longer I play the more my vpip drops. 1500 hands is as long as I can focus.

I've played up to 9 tables on Party, but I think 6 is ideal for me. Although I think lately I'm starting to develop a bit of FPS so I might play 8 tables and see how that goes.

definitely depends on the person. for me i play on autopilot once i hit 6 or more tables but less tables and i'm confident i'm making good reads and improving my game at the same time.

when you are just moving up i think playing 4-6 is a smart idea to get better reads and adjust to teh new level, or if the games are really bad, theres no need to play an extra 4 tables of all solid players.
Once you become comfortable and are a proven winner, as long as you can handle it you should be playing more tables. Currently im playing anywhere from 3-8 depending on game conditions, how alert i am etc.
