Re: hand vs durrrr, top pair deep HU
Hi KRANTZ,
The only bluff component I see to hand one is an attempt to push you off a chop sometimes. He knows he's ahead very often on the river, and when he's not, he's usually tied. Hand 2 I see no bluff aspect to; in what world would you or anyone fold KK+ on the river? This is a pretty excellent card for him. If the main hand being discussed relates to the above hands, he can be value betting any Q. I don't see him bluffing here, because there are few hands you likely hold that aren't too good to bluff out right now. Maybe 99, 88, etc., but 7s are now trips, and Qs are not folding. The only way you'd show up with something very weak here is if you floated the flop and picked up a draw, and I have no idea if you were doing stuff like that with KJ/As8s or whatever, but that seems unlikely as well. So the question IMO is, how much of his range is comprised of Qs that chop with you. You get half the pot there, and most of his range beyond that is beating you (very little air IMO, very little v-betting from a random pair of tens), so you have to do the math. Off the top of my head, this seems like a close call. |

Re: hand vs durrrr, top pair deep HU
the decision is on the turn. there are a lot of bad cards that can come on the river so if a complete rag come off and you have a tough decision it's bad news bears. then again v. a player like durr it could be more likely he has a hand now, and a flush card could be a better call to call the river bet on, depends what level you guys are playing on. to me, this looks like a straight forward value bet by durr including hands QK and better.

Re: hand vs durrrr, top pair deep HU
I think you should raise the flop, but meh.
As played, I can't see you being ahead here often enough to call. Also, why are you playing durrr HU? |
