Re: Fav. breakfast food iyo
The thing is, the Full English is all this unhealthy food that's not even very tasty.
English bacon < American ("streaky") bacon Eggs sunny side up < Eggs scrambled or poached Plain toast < bagel And who wants baked beans at breakfast? |

[ QUOTE ]
so that fatty crap is english bacon? [/ QUOTE ] Indeed. Actually, I gather from Wikipedia that it's called "back bacon," but it's what you are typically served in the UK or Ireland if you order bacon. It's cut thick and, instead of nicely interlaced fat, it has one big lengthwise strip. It looks fatty because of that strip, but in fact it has a lower overall fat content than American-style bacon. As a bonus, this means it doesn't get crispy when you cook it. It tastes like salty ham. If you want American-style bacon (which comes from the pig belly, rather than the back) you have to order "streaky bacon." |
