[/ QUOTE ] http://www.halls.md/chart/men-height-w.htm  If this is using the mean, I guess I could see how they arrive at it, however I'm sure the median height is probably 5'9 or 5'8". EDIT: Duh, I'm an idiot - was using the 95 percentile curve. EDIT2: Looks like 5'10" is about the average.

I'm 6'4 and I tower over 99% of the guys at my school.

The average has gone up in recent years but its definitely not higher than 6'. Probably more like 5'10"-5'11"
