if your on this workout your gonna find yourself being hungery and needing to eat foods, which is perfectly ok, its a tough workout and your body needs to repair itself. ALot of people ty n starve themselves all day, then at night cant sleep because their hungry, or end up vegging out. Its ok to eat, just make sure to space out your meals , and make sure your eating the right foods at the right time, good luck man, KEEP ME POSTED!!!

Nation,

A beginning lifter can gain strength and body recomp due to just being so new to lifitng. I do like some of the lactic-acid/GH style programs, but prefer alternating them with cycles to focus on strength. A new lifter should likely be doing the simplest thing that results in gains which will likely just be a basic 5x5. Strength athletes will also do this to maintain strength as well. Keeping intensity and volume high and increasing # of sets and rest periods to yield same tonnage and typically a higher intesity.

For example: Go from 3x8@200 to a 8x3@200 would be same volume but higher intensity assuming you're getting weaker (almost a certainty for an intermediate or "older" lifter).

I'll take your word for it that this is a great workout for fat-burning or whatever it is for, but I don't see how jogging a 12 minute mile over 3 intervals with walking pre-post-inter makes for "high intensity."

as i said its my version of an HIIT, i just used that as a foundation. Because its on a treadmill it is tough to change speeds every minute or so,and annoying. Thremp i agree 100 percent with changing up your workout, i have 3 complelty diff programs that i usee threw out the year, i just gave him a basic workout that i thought would achieve his short term goal

Here's a wiki link on HIIT:

I think you'll agree that HIIT can refer to a lot of things, but none of them are 50 minutes of low intensity walking/trotting.

Its not HIIT. Unless you blaze before there is nothing "high" about that workout.
