Re: Ps3 \'Home\' looks SICK
What would make this really shine is a multi-disc holding capability so you wouldn't have to get up from your couch to go put in a game. If you could seemlessly come out of one game and then decide "hey, a round of this would rule right now", I think that'd make this twice as awesome.
That'd be sick if you could start d/ling retail games instead of going to the store to the HDD to make this possible. |

Re: Ps3 \'Home\' looks SICK
[ QUOTE ]
This is exactly like Second Life, which is already out there and has tons of users. Anyone with a computer can use Second Life, I wonder how many users this will get. [/ QUOTE ] I dunno, this seems superficially similar to Second Life, but not nearly as organic. Most of the objects, textures, animations, gameplay, etc... in Second Life is creted by users, and it doesn't sound like Home will offer this, at least not initially. Plus, Linden Labs lets users keep the intellectual property right to content they create in-game, which is potentially huge...I'd be surprised if Sony would be willing to do this if and when they let people create their own in-Home content at all. Being able to show off pics and vids is sweet but being able to build your own mansion and virutal casino and make a real profit off of it would be much sweeter. |
