Illini should be in a bowl, but the Zooker sucks as a game coach

Illini, same thing - actually Illini are worse - they were 1-7 in Big 10 play and lost by a whole TD to OSU. Their lone win being by 3 against imploding Mich St with no time left.

Run up middle entire 2nd half, no offense. Illinois makes a small comeback but has no shot to win the game, BFD. Game was never in jeopardy. At any point, Tressel could have gone for the jugular and finished them off. But I'm guessing you didn't actually watch this game and only looked at the box score.

i am planning to bet florida at kickoff, maybe get +8 +100

i could see this crashing to -6.5, depends on how highly people rate sec conference vs country

I really don't see this crashing to 6.5.

I do think you have a shot of getting +8 if you're like FL.

I'm liking OSU 7.5 actually.

I wouldn't classify Tressel as conservative in general. Sure, they were conservative in 2002 but's that's because OSU didn't have an explosive offense. The 2002 Buckeyes were the college version of the 2000 Ravens. Play great defense, don't turn the ball over, win the field position battle. Because of that season, Tressel got this reputation as conservative. Now that OSU has Troy Smith and a ton of weapons, Tressel has really opened it up. Do you realize OSU ran two-thirds of its plays out of the shotgun against Michigan? Not exactly 3 yards and a cloud of dust.

your point is right tom1975, but I would be more careful with the argument.

shotgun doesn't mean that much in college these days. It is often used as a running formation.
West Virginia runs a shotgun nearly every play. Arkansas often runs a shotgun.

the coaching edge in this game is huge

Anyone who saw the 3rd quarter of the SEC Championship game, (ya know, the one that turned on that ridiculous muffed punt) knows that Urban Meyer is largely outmatched vs. Tressel.....BIG advantage buckeyees

I'm going off the USC-Texas movement last year. Am I remembering correctly? Is this the applicable analogy?

[/ QUOTE ]

If florida was undefeated, this would be applicable...as played, no

I was using the analogy to guess as to the future line movements....not to predict the game. In both instances, a large favorite of about a TD.
I should've been more clear
