Just to pile on, some fun statistics (yeah, when Michigan goes 1-7 or does something unpossible like lose to I-AA team you can all tear us apart, but this chance only comes along so often).

ND's offense is of course last in IA with some 1500 total yards, or 187 yards a game, and 2.95 yards a play. For comparison, only 1 other team is averaging less than 4 yards a play, much less under 3. There are 76 players with more yards/game than Notre Dame. Michael Crabtree, a WR, is only 181 yards shy of ND's total.

Also, ND's punter was player of the game against USC. He was a Ty recruit.

I'm eagerly anticipating the UW-ND game next year. Don't expect it, but if UW should win, it will be marvelous to watch NDNation (I mean, more than usual).

I love the BS excuses ND throws up and how people knock em down.

"We've got SOOO many young players"

*People to list many top 25 teams with just as many, if not more, young players*

"Well, we just lost SOOO much talent last year"

*People proceed to list top 10 teams that lose more talent year after year after year*

Notre Dame fans, the only correct explanation is that you utterly suck.

You have terrible players who aren't trying very hard and coaching staff that isn't doing anything about it. This is the worst possible state a program can be in.

You're best bet is to try to get the BCS to rewrite everything so you can get your win total requirement lowered to at least 4. Then you can get back to your recent glorious tradition of getting blown out in bowl games by vastly superior teams.

Irish fans don't have much to cheer about lately, especially with the sub-anemic effort the team displayed against USC. But we finally did get some good news because 5 star uber reciever Michael Floyd from Minniapolis, St Paul committed to the Irish over the weekend. This brings brings an absolutely stacked class, currently ranked #1 in the nation, up to 20 recruits. I haven't given CW much credit for anything this season, but he certainly deserves kudos for holding together this amazing class despite the dismal season. Another WR and a couple more OLs and this could shape up to be the highest rated class in Irish history. As correctly mentioned in a previous post, Rivals.com doesn't name the National Champion, but recruiting this level of talent is an essential piece to a championship caliber program.

Now if they could just get a coach that could actually develop and coach the kids...

Bernie,

An absolutely legit question...one that Irish fans are currently wondering. We'll know a lot more about Weis's capabilities next year. With 3 full classes of his guys, he won't enjoy the same level patience with Irish fans as he has this season.

BTW, your boys are 2-5 right now...what's a) your opinion on TW, and b) is it any different from the prevailing mood of Husky fans?

2-5 with losses to Ohio State, @UCLA, USC, @ASU and Oregon. All of which they kept close until at least the 3rd quarter.

even the most extreme posidawgs have turned against ty at this point. is there any other explanation other than coaching on how a team can completely lose it in the second half of every single game? even the boise state game the huskies looked terrible in the second half.

Where are the posts by ND fans where they deny that ND is a really bad team? It's obvious everyone knows it, excuse ND fans for not carrying banners informing everyone on every negative aspect of their team. They know ND is not in the same league at USC or OSU right now, no one is claiming they are. There are some things for ND to be excited about in the future and that's about it.

I don't get Colin Cowherd on radio anymore since I moved. Has he been touting Weis as the greatest offensive genius this year again? methinks not.

Just curious, now that ND is done losing to mediocre teams, how will they fare against the other bottom dwellers?
Air Force, Navy, Duke, and Stanford are up.
They get Stanford on the road, which isn't good, since the Cardinal are likely the best of the three.
I think AF, Navy and Duke might be a pickem.

Quality post OP, I share your sentiments. Can you or anyone else think of a good site which has commentary on ND recruiting efforts/successes? My own searches have been fruitless so far.
