Your opportunity cost for coaching is your hourly winrate, which for a good MSNLer is probably about $150/hour if they play lots o tables.

[/ QUOTE ]

Cbloom's response was dead one, but regarding the above quote, um WTF? A "good MSNLer" makes $150/hr playing lots o tables. 4-tabling (~400 hands/hr) at 2/4 for 5ptbb/100 is $160/hr. 2/4 is the bottom of the totem pole for MSNL, so I assume most "good MSNLers" are making significantly more than $150/hr.

Not a big deal, it just kinda made me jerk my head.

Don't be such a pussy. 5 buyins is nothing.

I think he is thinking in terms of money not buy-ins. I do the same thing, down -$1,700 (aka 4.25 buy-ins) in two days... sick

You might have jixned yourself with the BBV post.

Just out of curiosity (and because we were talking about this a few weeks ago) how much of this is stacking off for 200bb at a time versus losing smaller pots? How much do you estimate you would have lost if you bought in for 100bb instead of 200bb?

Hey Lucky,

Actually I think my curse lyes in transferring $100 to a friend to play. Ever since then its been downhill.

No honestly after my large win of $2.5k I relaxed a little, focused a little less, and loosened up my pf raising/calling range. Doh!

As far as the 200BB/100BB conversation goes I would say 90% of the loses were small $100-$200 pots, I can't recall any 200BB pots off hand.

Of course I also ran into my fair share of suckouts, bullsh*t by the villian etc.

With this two day -$1,700 loss I am still a winning player in 1/2 NL but instead of 9pt/100BB I am at around 4.5pt/100BB (over 12k hands)

Play more hands - but raise less.

Put yourself at a table with 5 players with VP$IP>40, PFR%<7, fold to c-bet percentages of around 50, and aggression factors of 1.5 or less (passive stations) - What is your plan?

I'm going to limp a lot at a table like this.

Recently I have ran into alot 40/11/3's in the 1/2 games. Very loose preflop and aggro post.

Learning to play these players has been a change.

I agree limping is OK if you can't isolate very often b/c of cold calling from donks
