I watched Airplane for my birthday. It's like some one made a movie out of Wookie's avatar. I couldn't remember ever seeing it the whole way through, so it was a fresh experience. Hilarious. [/ QUOTE ] qft In other news, I finally got my driver's licence, at age 25. Booyah! I had to take two tries at parallel parking, but whatever works. I was surprisingly freaked out about taking the test. Anyways, Over the last three weeks driver training has taken something like 48+ hrs, I'm glad it's done. I still drive like crap, but I'm hoping to be careful and survive the next few months til I get less-like-crap. |

Congrats David.
I remember taking my driver's test. I ran over the curb parallel parking. I got yelled at for attempting to make a three point turn in a driveway (it seemed easier). I then hit the curb on my second attempt at it. I also managed to pull up to a stoplight in middle of two lanes somehow. Thankfully, when we were driving around some blocks, a dog ran out in front of me, some kid on a bike rode out in front of me, and later a lady with a baby stroller rolled out in front of me. I slammed on my brakes every time to avoid them, so the guy passed me anyways, saying "You're a terrible driver, but you pay attention to the road which is more than most people do." |

Last night, after writing two papers, I went out on my friend JD’s boat on Lake Norman. We left port about 8:30, right when it was getting dark. Cruising for about fifteen minutes, we felt the water spray into our faces while we worried about police boats. Dropping anchor, we listened to Blues Hour on the radio and drank beer and smoked cigars and talked about all those things that you talk about when you’re on a boat with your closest friends at night. I felt so young. I didn’t smoke a cigar because they don’t taste good. We stayed out for two hours on the water. It felt like fifteen minutes/fifteen days. I’m not sure which.

work is kicking my ass.
6max is kicking my ass. I'm drinking Old Boardhead at 3pm and watching hockey highlights and Marx Brothers' movies on youtube. This time last year I had 70 dollars to my poker name. This year I have 1300. Even when stressed I seek out the good in life. I don't think I could ever be a mean drunk. When's the next KotKP? |

almost done, actually.
i'm saying that under the rawlsian veil of ignorance, we can evaluate various claims by amartya sen about equality and justice, and thus those argue that wife-beating is bad. namely [btw ugm, viz. is lame as hell], sen's arguments regarding inequality as bad, utilitarianism as bad, and freedom of opportunity as good all point to determining that we can all agree that you can't beat your wife. how lame is that? while researching sen, i came across the arrow impossibility theorem. talk about a effed up thing to learn about while finishing a poli sci major. holla |
