its kind of weird how the idea of making dogs fights makes me sick to my stomach, yet killing other animals that tastes good seems perfectly natural in my mind.

If Vick should had fought wild hogs, how much better off would he be right now?

Don't you see the difference? Killing animals for food is how we survive. Vick fights dogs for nothing other than money or the thrill of the fight. Some people say animals are tortured before they become part of the food chain, but at least they serve a purpose at the end. These dog trainers torture the dogs throughout their lives and then they die a meaningless death, either in the ring or by the owner.

I REALLY want to see the courts wipe that smug look off his face and send him to jail for years. He was always a cocky prick so it will be nice to see him punished.

i think dog fighting is similar to beastiality porn. if you enjoy it you probably should be locked up in a padded room because something is wrong with you, but making it a crime seems kind of silly. the 'torture' argument seems pretty weak imho.

One of Michael Vick's co-defendants pleaded guilty Monday to federal dogfighting conspiracy charges in a plea agreement with prosecutors.

Tony Taylor, 34, who will be sentenced Dec. 14, said he was not promised any specific sentence in return for his cooperation with the government.

"The 'Bad Newz Kennels' operation and gambling moneys were almost exclusively funded by Vick," a statement of facts supporting the plea agreement and signed by Taylor says.

The statement also lists several dogfights that Taylor claims Vick attended in Virginia and other states. The principals in the dogfighting ring split any winnings, and Taylor -- who spent most of his time raising and training the pit bulls -- used his share for living expenses, according to the statement.

Taylor also confirmed the indictment's claim that he helped purchase pit bulls and killed at least two dogs that fared poorly in test fights.

Well more bad news for Mr. Mexico, the last two defendants are entering plea deals this week. So that leaves Vick as the only defendant. It's being reported that the Feds have given him until Friday to seek his own plea bargain or face additional charges.

Will he be smart enough it take the deal? Doubtful and from what I've seen of his attorneys they are more interested in making a name for themselves then helping their client.

If this goes to trial it will just be more jail time. He can probably get off serving 6 months in a federal pen if he takes a deal now. Either way I don't see him playing this year or next...and maybe never.

Coach Petrino said today that they've been preparing for the season under the assumption that Vick wont be playing.

Yahoo reported earlier that Goodell is going to suspend Vick for the season in the next couple weeks. The NFL then said no decision has been reached yet. Go figure. There's no doubt he's going to be suspended. The sooner the better for the team so the media can quit speculating and pestering the players about it.

Heh, if they have the worst record and get the #1 pick in 2008 they could draft that Louisville QB that Petrino coached.

If he wants to have any future in the NFL he needs to win at trial. For this reason there is almost zero probability he will cut a deal.

Heard before the 49ers game that Vick's remaining codefendents are allegedly pleading guilty and working out a deal in return for giving information
