Eh, I think you may be right about it getting stopped too quickly. Chuck has his hands up when the ref was flying in, and I think a little more time should have been given. He probably still would've gotten his ass beat, but come on.

[/ QUOTE ]
Chuck is not defending at all the first few punches and by the time he gets his hands up the ref is already diving at them. Refs have to make these decisions quick and in most cases like this the ref would just be letting a fighter take unnecessary punishment if he had waited.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah I know, but it's just disappointing that such a hyped fight ended so soon. Just one more punch is all I wanted to see to be 100% sure.

[/ QUOTE ]

You can see he is limp for 2 of the last 3 punches. The last punch actually woke him up and he put his arms up, so the stoppage was good. His arms were no where near being in a spot to stop Rampage from continuing to reign down blows and he certainly wast coherent.

Rampage brought his "A game" so the fight went his way. With Rampage v. Hendo as always it depends on which rampage shows up.

I would have sold my soul to see Wandy v Chuck a few years ago. I'm still incredibly excited now but its no longer a belt unifying fight of epic proportions (though I still expect them to go at it). I would also like to see an Ortiz v Silva rematch (as last time they fought I don't think the axe murderer had found his groove yet; and as I always enjoy Ortiz getting raped by legendary fighters).

205 seems incredibly stacked. About six months ago I would have said the most talent stacked class was likely 170... but even with that sick depth I think at 205 any of the top half dozen or so contenders could match up and the fights would be sick.

My big question now though: Heavyweights? We have Couture v Gonzaga... and then what. Arlovski getting aggresive again and climbing the ranks? Big Tim trying to not be an oaf/joke? And wtf Cro Cop wtf why can't you beat the [censored] out of people in the octagon (where your fighting style would destroy guys... but you havent seemed on your game at all since coming to the UFC)?

And of course another looming question: When does Fedor show up? (Right now he is like the looming mega boss in a video game, the other guys squabble until he shows up with his level 99 Russian Skillz)

Liddell was limp for the first shots, it was a clear stoppage IMO.

While I loved the mainstream MMA hype, it was a bit annoying how everyone proclaimed Chuck the world's greatest (Fedor obv.) before the fight, and then how much of an upset this was after the fight.

Rampage looked very good against Silva, but everyone will remember how brutal the KO's were. Rua broke his ribs. He was definitely no can.

I believe it can be found on ESPN.com. I'll try to find one in a minute.

here's the vid of jardine getting his ass whooped. This is unbelievable for a first-time UFC fight (alexander) vs. a contender in jardine. just wow

here's a gif of chuck's face after the stoppage. He, um, looks like he has ABSOLUTELY no idea where he is. These faces, while not really funny, always make me laugh bc i'm a terrible person

So yeah, the fight was stopped appropriately.
