Just read the EPSN article on the UCLA win. An excerpt:

[ QUOTE ]
The Bruins lead the series 91-13, winning 12 in a row in Pullman.

Before the game, WSU presented retired basketball coach Dick Bennett with an honorary alumnus award for the three years he spent rebuilding the problem before turning it over to his son Tony this year.

UCLA is good.

Aaron Baynes is not.

If he can make a layup, we've got a chance.

That said, UCLA is good.

Here's hoping the Pac schools stay healthy through the tournament. I disagree with the poster above - I think our conference is poised to put up a great show in this years dance. Our 6 teams are all quite solid in their own ways - and the brutal conference schedule will only end up helping them.

Huskies > UCLA today. Suprising to most people, UCLA seemed to be rolling. Looks like the top is about to shuffle again in the polls (actually probally not), if Memphis moves much higher I'm going to puke (Memphis is my 2nd favorite team since I live there).

classic letdown game. pretty disappointing that we always get embarrassed on national tv. everyone played poorly. pretty sure this ucla team can beat the huskies 80%+ of the time.

Stupid Bruins, now I have to listen to Husky fans on sports radio for the next week, deluding themselves into thinking they'll still make the tournament somehow. Plus it gives them a reason to bash WSU, because the fact that we beat them twice this year doesn't mean anything. [/bitter]

OMG THAT WAS A GREAT GAME.

USC has a ton of talent, but they're just a dumb team.

That game was just fantastic. I'm so worked up from watching it.

Officials were horrible, Floyd should have been T-ed if for no other reason that Young's offensive foul was utterly horrible and contesting it was ridic.

So here's the final standings:
TEAM CONF W-L TOTAL W-L
UCLA 15-3 26-4
Washington State 13-5 24-6
Oregon 11-7 23-7
Arizona 11-7 20-9
USC 11-7 21-10
Stanford 10-8 18-11
Washington 8-10 18-12
California 6-12 14-16
Oregon State 3-15 11-20
Arizona State 2-16 8-21

What do you guys think for seeds in the NCAA Tournament, at this point?

I haven't seen a lot of what people are saying about UCLA but they are getting a 1 or 2 even after the loss I think. Washington State should be in the 3-4 range. It will be interesting to see what they do with Oregon, Arizona, and USC. I think Oregon and Arizona will be around a 5-7 and USC somewhere a bit below 7-9 or even 10 with a PAC 10 tournament. Obviously you want to avoid the 7-10 range as you are going to face a decent first-round team and a top 2nd round team if you advance. For these three teams the PAC 10 tournament will be huge for this reason.

Stanford needs a couple wins to make the tournament, but I think that they are probably in as one of the later teams making it unless they lose in their first match.

BTW assuming ESPN has correctly done the tiebreakers, here's the bracket:

"play in round":
Cal - OSU
UW - ASU

Quarters:
Arizona - USC
UCLA - Cal/OSU

Oregon - Stanford
WSU - UW/ASU

The quite likely WSU - UW quarterfinal should be excellent. I would love to see WSU beat them for a third time. UW would have been much better off on the other side as I don't think they'll be good enough if they make the final and lose by going through ASU, WSU, Oregon/Stanford and losing to whichever of UCLA, Arizona and USC get there. Had they gone through OSU then UCLA then Arizona/USC they would look much better. I think they won't be in unless they win it.

Stanford matchup pretty well with Oregon so the tournament setup probably favors them. I think they are in if they beat the ducks.

OK apparently I'm wrong. According to the article on the Oregon - Oregon State game "The Ducks (23-7, 11-7) won their final three games of the regular season and have won 14 straight against the Beavers (11-20, 3-15) at McArthur Court. Oregon will go into next week's Pac-10 tournament as the fourth seed and will play Arizona."

So it must be USC - Oregon - Arizona. That makes the bracket for the quarters:
Arizona - Oregon
UCLA - Cal/OSU

USC - Stanford
WSU - UW/ASU

That's probably a bit worse for Stanford. Oregon gets more upside and less downside from the potential semifinal match. Oregon - Arizona should be an excellent match.
